In Memoriam pianist Misha Alperin (1956-2018)
Pianist Misha Alperin passed away on May 11, aged 61. He was born in Ukraine, debuted as jazz musician in Moldova, came to prominence in Moscow (still parts of the Soviet Union at the time,) performed with his Moscow Art Trio worldwide, recorded several albums as a leader for ECM Records, and lived in Norway, where he taught at the Norwegian Academy of Music, for quarter of a century.
