From the History of Jazz in Russia

We at Jazz.Ru are very serious about letting our English-speaking readers know about the history and the present-day state of jazz in Russia; only, we have only so many heads, hands, and hours per day, so until now, we could not translate our most informative articles to English too often. Too often we still could not, but at least we would try harder.

Here's one of our latest attempts.

Grigory Shabrov: In Memoriam, by Oleg Stepurko (translated by Diana Kondrashina)
Trumpeter, composer and ex-member of Vitaly Kleynot's band, the first jazz rock band in Russia, Oleg Stepurko remembers his bandmate, pianist Grigory Shabrov, who passed away after prolonged illness on December 2, 2010.
